Näettekös te tämän kerän tässä? Se on itse kehräämääni lankaa. Aloin verestää vanhoja taitojani ja huomasin, etteivät ne missään hukassa ole olleet. Tallessa ne ovat, vaikkakin vähän ruosteessa. Siksi pitääkin nyt koettaa kehrätä ahkerasti. Tämä kaunokainen on muuten nimeltään Poutapilvi. Saa nähdä, mitä hänestä ensi kesään mennessä kehkeytyy.

Do you see this ball? It's yarn. I have spun this myself, bit by bit. I have both the spindle and the wheel. The latter must live on the terrace because it fits nowhere else. I use it only for plying. My trustworthy spindle will spin my wool, even it's slower than it would be with my wheel. But this is how it is, and I must live with these facts.
Oh, and I forgot to tell you the name of this yarn. It's Summer Cloud. We shall see, what happens to the Summer Cloud next summer.
