Jos tämä näyttää teidän lukijoiden silmin katsoen hahtuvakiekolta, näössänne ei ole mitään vikaa. Se on juurikin se, hahtuvakiekko. Se liittyy erääseen kauan tauolla olleeseen harrastukseeni, nimittäin kehräämiseen. Yli vuosikymmen sitten aloittelin kehräämistä eräällä vanhalla rukilla, ja tuon kiekon tapaiset hahtuvakiekot olivat ainoita mahdollisia materiaaleja. Ja tuossa on jo väriäkin. Ne aiemmat kiekot, joita kehräsin, olivat valkoisia ja harmaita. Nyt niihin on näköjään tullut väriäkin, ja se on kiva se. Testasin tässä yksi ilta, että sujuuko se hahtuvan kehräys enää ollenkaan, ja sujuuhan se. Ei ole vanha taito kadonnut minnekään, ja se on iso helpotus minulle.

If you see a picture of a pencil roving disk, your eyes are not failing you. The picture tells you about one old hobby of mine. More than a decade ago, I used my great-grandmother's wheel to spin for the first time myself. Back then, the pencil roving had only two colors, gray and white. I did not understand the pencil roving had other colors to choose from too. Now I see there are other color options than just gray and white. But times have changed since then.
One evening I tried my hand at spinning. I wanted to see if the old skill was still there. The spinning succeeded! The old skill hasn't vanished from my mind.
